.money is a generic top-level domain, delegated in 2014, and IANA records Binky Moon, LLC as its sponsoring organisation, in the United States of America. The registry points registrants at identity.digital for registration services. That delegation record was last updated on 7 Oct 2025; if the registry has changed hands since, IANA is where it shows up first.

66 .money names are among the 1,000,000 most-visited sites on the 15 Sep 2026 Tranco ranking. None of them reaches the top ten thousand, and 9 are inside the top hundred thousand — this is an extension of smaller sites rather than heavily-trafficked ones. The highest-ranked .money sites on that list include storage.money (#11,574), u-money.money (#12,995), cs.money (#15,190) and web.money (#34,541).

Identity Digital sets no qualifying criteria for .money: the requirement it does state is that every registrant holds a registration agreement with an ICANN-accredited registrar and keeps its contact details accurate. Its acceptable use policy covers every TLD it runs and lets the registry deny, suspend, cancel, redirect or transfer a name at its sole discretion — for malware, phishing, spam, botnets, DNS hijacking, denial-of-service or child abuse imagery, among other listed abuses. Some names are held back regardless: the registry reserves names for its own operations, for ICANN requirements and as premium inventory, and that list can change at any time. Its registry agreement with ICANN, signed 16 October 2014, is recorded as Base, Non-Sponsored — no sponsoring community stands behind the extension, so there is no community test to pass.

Availability of .money names is checked against the registry's own RDAP server (rdap.identitydigital.services) and DNS-over-HTTPS. On this site your browser asks that server directly for a first, provisional answer; our server's check confirms it, and only that answer is cached. Premium suspects (such as very short names) and brand-protected labels also get a third signal, Fastly Domain Research, before they are shown as available.
The lowest renewal among the 3 registrars we track is $28.32 a year at Porkbun. The highest is $59.99 at GoDaddy, so the same .money name costs $31.67 a year more depending on where it sits. Prices verified between 13 Sep 2026 and 4 Oct 2026.

3 of the six registrars in our price table: Porkbun, OVHcloud and GoDaddy. The others either do not sell .money or have not been re-verified recently enough to show, and a price we cannot re-verify is not printed. Each row carries its own verification date; these were verified between 13 Sep 2026 and 4 Oct 2026.
